CALUMET arrived in Erie at 1600 on New Year's Eve with salt from Fairport. After being delayed by weather, the vessel finally departed at 0300 on Friday, January 2 bound for Ashtabula to load coal.
CALUMET was more than likely the last call in Erie for the 2014 shipping season; the next arrivals will be the vessels for winter layup next week. Due to spend the winter this year in Erie are PRESQUE ISLE, ROGER BLOUGH, DOROTHY ANN/PATHFINDER and Canada Steamship Lines' 2013-built THUNDER BAY.
