The JOHN J. BOLAND arrived in Erie Friday afternoon at 1730 after circling in the lake for a half-hour to wait out a passing squall. During the squall, a cloud of dust from stone and sand stored at the Mounfort Terminal headed east over the city due to high winds.

The BOLAND came in and approached the Mounfort Terminal as the J.S. St. JOHN departed. The BOLAND intended to dock there to wait out an approaching squall but waited for the St. JOHN to pass before shifting to the Old Ore Dock to unload stone from Calcite.
