MARINER, BOLAND VISIT

AMERICAN MARINER arrived in port at around 0400 on the 4th of July and docked at the Old Ore Dock to unload stone from Cedarville, Michigan. The vessel unloaded throughout the morning before departing at around 1400, bound for Calcite, Michigan to load another stone cargo.

. JOHN J. BOLAND arrived in Erie at 1815 yesterday and docked at the Mountfort Terminal to unload stone from Calcite. BOLAND departed at 0630 this morning bound for Toledo, Ohio to unload coal.

PATHFINDER IN PORT; TWO DUE WEDNESDAY

DOROTHY ANN/PATHFINDER unloaded stone in Erie on Monday morning and departed at 1030 hours.

AMERICAN MARINER, laden with stone from Cedarville, Michigan, is expected in Erie at 0400 on Wednesday morning. MARINER should be outbound sometime around 1000 hours on Wednesday. JOHN J. BOLAND, with stone from Calcite, Michigan, is expected in Erie at around 1630 on Wednesday.

This is AMERICAN MARINER's first visit to Erie since December 7, 2006. Of note, Erie Shipping News was less than a month old on that last visit.

MANISTEE Unloads Salt

MANISTEE arrived in Erie at 1315 on Friday afternoon, turned in Erie harbor and docked at the Mountfort Terminal to unload salt from Fairport Harbor. This is MANISTEE's second trip into Erie with salt this season.

MANISTEE departed at 1930 bound for Marblehead, Ohio to load stone.

BISCAYNE BAY Departs

USCGC BISCAYNE BAY got underway from Dobbin's Landing this morning at 0600 and departed eastbound on Lake Erie. BISCAYNE BAY locked downbound through the Welland Canal this afternoon and is currently eastbound on Lake Ontario.

USCGC BISCAYNE BAY Stops in Port

The U.S. Coast Guard's 140-foot long icebreaking tug BISCAYNE BAY, WTGB-104, arrived in Erie at 2130 on Tuesday and anchored in Presque Isle Bay. This afternoon, the tug moved to the west side of Dobbin's Landing.

BISCAYNE BAY is one of nine "Bay class" Coast Guard cutters constructed in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and one of five stationed on the Great Lakes. BISCAYNE BAY is stationed in St. Ignace, Michigan and is nicknamed "Sentinel of the Straits," due to her homeport's location in the Straits of Mackinac.

It is unknown how long the BISCAYNE BAY will be in port.

KEN BOOTHE SR./LAKES CONTENDER Return to Erie

KEN BOOTHE SR. and barge LAKES CONTENDER returned to Erie Saturday for the first time since departing on their maiden voyage on May 5. The duo arrived in Erie at 1630 on Saturday with stone from Cedarville, Michigan, and docked at the Mountfort Terminal.

After undergoing repairs at the Mountfort Terminal and unloading part of her cargo there, the duo moved over the Old Ore Dock and finished unloading before departing Erie at 0900 this morning bound for Marquette, Michigan to load iron ore.

KEN BOOTHE SR./LAKES CONTENDER have been successfully engaged in trading iron ore, coal and stone for over a month now and are a true testament to the workmanship of Donjon Shipbuilding and Repair.
