KEN BOOTHE SR. and barge LAKES CONTENDER returned to Erie Saturday for the first time since departing on their maiden voyage on May 5. The duo arrived in Erie at 1630 on Saturday with stone from Cedarville, Michigan, and docked at the Mountfort Terminal.
After undergoing repairs at the Mountfort Terminal and unloading part of her cargo there, the duo moved over the Old Ore Dock and finished unloading before departing Erie at 0900 this morning bound for Marquette, Michigan to load iron ore.
KEN BOOTHE SR./LAKES CONTENDER have been successfully engaged in trading iron ore, coal and stone for over a month now and are a true testament to the workmanship of Donjon Shipbuilding and Repair.
